Precious Peanuts offers a safe, nurturing environment where your child will get the attention and care that he or she needs.
My name is Hayley McAuley and I am the sole childminder at Precious Peanuts.  I have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare , which enables me to offer the funded places for children aged 2 (criteria dependent), 3 and 4 (available for all children).  I hold the following qualifications, certificates and workshop attendance:
  • MA Childhood and Youth
  • BSc Honours degree in Psychology
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Health Psychology
  • Level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene
  • Child Protection certificate
  • Health and Safety at Work Certificate
  • Prevent Duty training
  • FGM training
  • Introduction to working with children therapeutically
My background consists of a myriad of experiences including caring for adults with Downs Syndrome and working with young people in a custodial setting.  My experience of working with challenging behaviour has taught me that children need love, someone to listen to them without making judgements and constant support through education.
This is the basis of Precious Peanuts.  All children are treated as individuals and their unique needs are recognised and nurtured.
I hold a degree in Psychology and this has given me a greater understanding of how children learn through play, which aides development both physically and socially.
At Precious Peanuts, your child will participate in developmentally-appropriate activities throughout the day, such as:
  • Story Time
  • Messy play
  • Cooking
  • Puzzles and Games
  • Computer Time
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Music
  • Pre-Reading Activities
  • Numbers and counting
  • Exploring the world around us
  • Regular trips out to local places of interest
  • Weekly visits to play gym sessions and toddler groups.
All activities are adapted to suit the age of your child and a topic based theme runs each week using letters of the alphabet.
You can rest assured that your child will be cared for with the utmost kindness, love and respect. I believe all children are precious gifts and I treat them as though they were my own.
